Four regional heavyweights certified in Thailand made the first ever Southeast Asia’s Best Workplaces in Technology, just as the country pulls in record data centre investment and new cloud regions from AWS and Google.
Thailand attracted 36 applications for data centre investment promotion worth a combined 728 billion baht in 2025, a more than sevenfold increase in a single year, according to Thairath. AWS launched its Asia Pacific (Thailand) Region in January 2025, and Google Cloud followed with a Bangkok region in January 2026. The infrastructure is arriving, the question is who will staff it?
Four companies certified in Thailand offer an early answer, earning places on Southeast Asia’s Best Workplaces™ in Technology 2026. The list draws on a confidential survey given to 219,262 employees across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, making it the largest workplace culture survey in the region.

All four could have limited their surveys to bigger offices elsewhere. Each chose to include its Thai team, and those teams helped earn regional recognition, which counts for more than a local plaque.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it’s earned entirely through the honest feedback of our teams, benchmarked against the region’s leading technology employers. As an AI builder company, it reflects our culture of innovation, collaboration and trust, and tells us our people feel empowered to learn and grow – a signal that Cognizant is where teams shape what’s next.” – Thomas Mathew, Vice President, Head of Cognizant ASEAN & Greater China

The second-largest digital economy in the region
Thailand’s digital gross merchandise value reached US$56 billion in 2025, up 16 per cent year on year, second in Southeast Asia behind only Indonesia, according to Enersys Insights’ review of regional e-Conomy data. The country’s data centre market is projected to grow from US$1.45 billion in 2025 to US$6.29 billion by 2031, per Research and Markets, with pipeline capacity above 2.87 gigawatts as of September 2025.
The approvals keep coming. Thailand’s Board of Investment cleared six major projects worth a combined 958 billion baht, around US$29 billion, in a wave led by a large-scale data infrastructure expansion from TikTok’s Thai entity in May 2026. The digital economy is forecast to grow 4.2 per cent in 2026, twice the pace of national GDP, per Nation Thailand.
Every one of those gigawatts represents jobs: engineers, operations staff, security specialists, project managers. Thai tech workers are about to have options, and employers who want to keep them will need more than a competitive salary band. Westcon-Comstor, whose Thai staff took part in the regional survey, points to what holds people instead.
“Being recognised as one of Southeast Asia’s Best Workplaces™ in Technology 2026 is a proud moment for all of us at Westcon-Comstor. This achievement reflects the passion, collaboration, and sense of belonging that our people bring every day, and reinforces our belief that when people feel connected to a shared purpose, they can make a meaningful difference for our partners, vendors, customers and one another.” – Westcon-Comstor
Thailand’s four winners in 2026 leave plenty of room on next year’s list. On current investment trends, the companies capable of filling it are breaking ground right now.
